Family Tree Check & Verification

Family Tree Check & Verification

You may well have a hand-drawn family tree which has been provided by a family member, or you may have notes on the family tree from your interview with the proposed Administrator(s).

But can you be sure it is correct? Are there errors or omissions? Is it documented? Why risk incorrect distribution that could cause problems further in the future?

Family Tree Check

This is a free service where we will quickly check the information you already have to enable you to continue in the administration of an estate. This uses the indexes only to check the information you have been provided with. This is especially useful to check close family members.

Family Tree Verification Service

Our Family Tree Verification service eliminates the risks associated with relying on family testimony. This service involves a check of all available records and family documents to rule out the possibility of missing heirs and beneficiaries.

In the majority of cases where we are instructed to check the family information, we find inaccuracies or omissions on the family tree. It could be best practice to instruct Estate Research to professionally identify and verify all the beneficiaries prior to distribution. As the family unit has become increasingly fractured over time, we find clients can no longer be as confident as to the full extent of the family.

Whilst family testimony is a good starting point, it is not a replacement for thorough, professional genealogy work. Our research can confirm or rule out:

Adoptions in
and out

Relatives moving
abroad

Family rumours
investigated

‘Uncles and
Aunts’ who are
not related

Illegitimate births
uncovered

Our Family Tree Verification service offers security and peace of mind that all rightful heirs have been identified.
